Paraiba Tourmaline Oval Cabochon

This type of tourmaline, named after the Brazilian state of Paraiba, is the most sought-after and most highly prized member of the tourmaline family. And because of its rarity, it can also be one of the most richly priced gemstones of any kind. Extremely fine two-carat faceted specimens can command prices in the $25,000-$50,000 range. However, this particular stone is far more affordable. It is a lively transparent gem with the color of the Caribbean.
