When people request emeralds, I almost always suggest Tsavorite garnets as an alternative. Part of the reason is that emeralds are often far more included, are normally treated with fillers and oils, and they require special care. Tsavorites are never treated. But in reality, it is simply that I think Tsavorites look nicer and usually have better color than emeralds. This matching pair of very fine Tsavorites are an uncommon find, and they would work well as side stones on a ring or as earrings.
