This ring was intended to maximize the appearance of the pear shaped diamond center stone, while also complementing it with deep blue sapphires. The customer wanted something that could be worn regularly, satisfied her somewhat conservative tastes, but also had a certain 'squeal factor' - as she put it. The design solution here was to include a traditional stone arrangement, but to incorporate a cluster of custom-made bezels. They serve to soften the appearance of the ring by giving it clean visual lines and also inform the classic setting with a more contemporary design language.
